MEET OUR LATEST INSPIRATION FOR A CONSCIOUS LIFE WELL-LIVED. WE’RE TAKING NOTE…

Music, sustainability, family: these are just a few of the passions that drew us to Rachel Brandt and her endlessly creative family living a quaint and conscious life in our hometown of St. Louis. Rachel’s blog, The Daily Wild, helps modern moms connect, while Bradley Johnson, a general contractor, uses his building know-how for sustainable projects—like helping renovate the family’s 1883 historic Victorian farmhouse to make a difference for the Earth—something we’re all about. At the heart of this family of four is a passion for making music. It’s what brought them together and keeps them moving with every step, every song, every note.

ON RACHEL'S BLOG:

“When I started The Daily Wild, I was searching for a community of women like me, who were ambitious, creative, and liked to do things a bit differently—women who enjoyed being mothers but were also interested in living exciting full lives outside of motherhood. I found that nearly every mother is the mother I was describing, but there just wasn’t a good way to connect.”

ON LIFE AND STYLE:

“My personal style is extremely minimal with a bit of bohemian rocker thrown in. When I’m shopping for clothes and shoes, supporting local business is important to me. I also love brands with a mission I can get behind, like Dr. Scholl’s!"

ON LIVING SUSTAINABLY:

“I grew up on a farm, so sustainable food practices have always interested me. I’m a vegetarian and as a family, we eat almost entirely plant-based. We do small things like walk everywhere we can, use natural products, use stainless steel straws, recycle, buy vintage, support sustainable brands, and opt-out of using paper and plastic whenever possible.”

ON THEIR IMPACT:

“We’ll never be perfect, but once you learn how your actions impact other living things it’s hard to unlearn that. I think that applies to everything in life including relationships. When you know better, do better.”

ON THEIR PASSION FOR MUSIC:

“Music is woven into the fabric of our family. My husband and I are both musicians and met at an open mic night while I was still in college. It’s always been important to us that no matter where we are in life, we never give up playing music. It’s the one thing about our little clan that will never change.”

1 SHOE. 1 TREE. ALL THE FEELS.

Our passion for sustainability started as a seed and grows with every shoe we make. That's why, with every purchase of a pair of Original Collection shoes, we're donating a tree to Trees for the Future to offset carbon emissions and help impoverished families around the world plant trees for a better life. Because new shoes, more trees and changing lives... we're all about it.
