Latoya In Morris

Latoya Thompson is all about self-love and embracing your natural beauty, and we're so here for it. She started her eco-conscious beauty line, Heritage 1933™, to challenge traditional beauty norms. It’s a stance we admire that’s making an even greater impact through donations of much-needed natural hair and hygiene products to homeless shelters. Because looking good, feeling good, and doing good? There’s nothing better.

ON STARTING HERITAGE 1933™

“I wanted to challenge what society identified as beauty, someone who usually doesn’t look like me. Something where you celebrate however you define what beauty is, knowing that it’s ok to celebrate ourselves, whether it’s hair extensions or beauty products—whatever makes you feel good.”

ON GIVING BACK

“My mom struggled with drug addiction, so we lived in a homeless shelter for a short time when I was 8 or 9 years old. The hair products that were being donated, we couldn’t use because we require more moisture. I knew there was a major need for African American hair care and hygiene products in shelters. My mom struggled with preparing for interviews, doing her hair, so just having these products available can make a huge difference.”

ON DR. SCHOLL'S & SUSTAINABILITY:

"All our ingredients are natural and non-toxic. When we were creating Heritage 1933™, we wanted to be really conscious about that. I try to make more conscious choices in my life, like eating clean and understanding more about the apparel I purchase and where it comes from, how it's made. That's why I really aligned with Dr. Scholl's and the sustainability mission."

ON HER FAVORITE SPRING STYLE:

"I love the StayCay OG. I love how fuzzy they feel, like a slipper, but fashionable. It fits my life, and I think a lot of peoples' lives right now."
